Ascot Charity Ball 2003...

The stars came out to support the first Ascot Charity Ball at Ascot Racecourse. Lance Percival, Thunderbirds creator Gerry Anderson, former Miss UK Louise Lakin and Gladiator Rio were among several familiar faces enjoying the glittering evening to raise money for the Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust.

The evening included a champagne reception, gala dinner, fabulous live entertainment, a grand auction including a flight in a Tiger Moth, a Helicopter Flight, a Frankie Dettori special memento and memorabilia from sporting legends, and tombola and finally dancing to The Tornados and The Midnight Rider Roadshow.

Local beneficiaries included:

St Margaret’s School (Children’s Trust)

Ascot Area Alzheimers Support Group

Swinley Primary School

Windsor & Ascot Driving Group for the Disabled

Here are some pictures of some of the trustees visiting the trust:

This is the letter of thanks received from the charity as well as the Certificate of Donation:

Below are some exerts taken from letters received from other causes also helped at this years event:

“On behalf of the Ascot Area Alzheimers Support Group, I would like to thank you very much for the very generous donation. This will enable us to do respite at Heatherwood Hospital and also we will put some towards the Christmas Party.”
Una Rowson - Ascot Area Alzheimers Support Group

“I am writing to thank you and the Trustees for the cheque. It is incredibly generous of you and we are so grateful. It has enabled us to buy a new pony for the Group. We had to have a very old and trusted pony put down in January and Casper is a British Horse Society rescue pony. He is a great addition to the Group. Once again, so very many thanks from us all. We are hugely grateful.”
Brigid Hamill - The Windsor and Ascot Driving Group for the Disabled
