NSPCC and CHILDLINE 2008
The annual Ascot Charity Ball, one of the most prestigious and elegant evenings in the Ascot social calendar, took place at the stylish Pavilions at Royal Ascot Racecourse recently. The sparkling and well-attended evening began with a champagne reception, before over 300 glamorous guests enjoyed the gala dinner and fantastic entertainment, including an electrifying performance from virtuoso violinist Linzi Stoppard and a show-stealing performance from ventriloquist Paul Zerdin.
Bidding was extremely lively in the grand auction with superb lots up for grabs, including a signed Status Quo guitar, a diamond bracelet, a Henri Matisse lithograph and a fantastic five day luxury yacht cruise complete with skipper in Gibraltar.
This year a fantastic £50,000 was raised for the charities NSPCC and ChildLine, now formally joined together, with the following local charities also benefiting: Naomi House, People to Places, St John Ambulance, Treloar Trust and Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance.
The Trust would like to thank everybody who helped make the ball such a success and particularly patrons Paul Attwell, Rae Bowdery and Martin Carroll, who over the years have provided invaluable support.
